Text 31 Dec 1 note Day 4 & 5

Today Justin finished his bass tracking! Things have been running smoothly and we’re actually ahead of schedule. The only downside so far has been Justin and our producer are battling illness, so it’s a good thing we have the next few days off.

I must say, this first week of recording has been an extremely positive experience. It’s good to be working with someone who is on the same page as we are, but at the same time he isn’t afraid to push us to our full potential. The atmosphere at the studio couldn’t be better. So far the best times have been when we have some downtime and we get to just hang out, watch movies and pig out on all the junk food some great friends of ours have provided us (thank you Melissa, Amber and April!)

Next week will be all about guitars. I don’t feel nervous right now, but when my time comes I’m sure the nerves will strike. I suppose I’m more anxious than anything. I can’t wait to hear these songs in their fullest form.

But for now we rest. Being back home is nice, though I’m sure after the new year hits my mind will immediately shift back to the songs. I feel like that’s all I can concentrate on these last few days. And it feels good. Really good.

Until next week.

-Aaron

PS. Keep an eye out for a super sweet video update. Should be up within the next few days.
